MORGAN MICHALS

Headshot of Morgan Michals, an Assistant Director at Camp Olympia. Morgan Michals has been involved with Camp Olympia since 2006. During her time at Olympia, she transitioned from a camper to a staff member, working her way up from counselor to summer leadership and then to a year-round intern. She is now our newest full-time Assistant Director. Morgan is responsible for overseeing several areas at camp, including videography, staff recruitment, the ropes course, Spartan/Athenian, and the SPARK Program. She also helps manage staff recruitment during the school year and operates several weekend groups.

Morgan graduated from Texas A&M University in 2021 with a bachelor of science degree in psychology. Throughout her time at A&M, she competed on the Division I Women’s Cross Country and Track and Field teams. Morgan loved her time as an Aggie and is now a Sam Houston State University graduate student studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She plans to finish her degree in 2026 and become a licensed counselor.

Morgan is passionate about camping and serving others. She hopes to use her counseling skills to help children and adults overcome barriers to mental health and build self-confidence. She cherishes the friendships she has developed at Olympia and takes great joy in witnessing her former campers evolve into exceptional staff members.
