Camp Olympia Opens Gates for Annual Open House Carnival

HOUSTON, Texas (March 27, 2012) – Camp Olympia, a premier Texas summer camp for boys and girls ages 6 to 16 located on Lake Livingston in Trinity, Texas, today announced that it is celebrating its 45thsummer by opening its gates for a free camp tour and Open House Carnival that will be held on March 31, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Parents and kids can tour the camp, try out some of the 40+ activities, meet the camp directors and camp counselors, check out the campgrounds, cabins, facilities and latest improvements. The Camp Olympia Open House Carnival is free to all; including new and returning campers, friends and families.

Camp Olympia’s Open House Carnival will include an opportunity to tour the camp facilities, to meet the camp leadership and camp counselors to answer questions, and to introduce families to all the fun that awaits them at Camp Olympia. The Camp Open House also offers a great lakeside camp lunch and a chance to enjoy several of the 40+ fun summer camp activities, weather permitting, including: rock wall climbing, horseback riding, archery and jumping pillow.

“New and returning campers can earn extra Camp Olympia merits, for registering during the Open House Carnival. Camp Olympia merits can be used to purchase items, during camp sessions, from the Camp Country Store,” said Kathy Ferguson, co-director of Camp Olympia. “The 2012 Camp Olympia Open House Carnival marks our 45th summer. It is always so much fun to see grandparents and parents, that attended Camp Olympia when they were younger, share the excitement of Camp Olympia with their grandkids and kids.”

Camp Olympia offers four camp sessions a year. For 2012, the following camp terms are offered:

  • Term 1 (two weeks) – June 3 to June 16, 2012
  • Term 2 (three weeks) – June 17 to July 7, 2012
  • Term 3 (three weeks) – July 8 to July 28, 2012
  • Term 4 (two weeks) – July 29 to August 11, 2012
