Camp Olympia

Sports

At Camp Olympia, two-week and three-week campers CHOOSE from over 45 different activities , including a wide variety of SPORTS. Camp counselors will teach the sports to help you improve your skills in a fun way. Learn about the sports that Camp Olympia offers to see which activities you would like to choose!

Sports Offered at Camp Olympia

Baseball

Baseball is as popular as ever! Olympia’s beautiful Baseball Park, named Ferguson Field, is second to none. Campers can hit a home run over the huge wall in left field or into Caney Creek in right field! In addition to baseball class, campers enjoy participating in our Home Run Derbies and Speed Softball games on this field.

Basketball

Camp Olympia has 2 covered basketball courts for double the fun! One court is a covered court at the O’Dome, and the second court is a full-size court next to the tennis courts. In addition to basketball activity class, campers enjoy playing basketball during Spartan/Athenian and love participating in a game of “knockout” during breakout.

Cheerleading

At Camp Olympia, cheerleading is A-W-E-S-O-M-E! Campers learn new cheers and practice in our O’Dome. Campers in our cheerleading classes may choose to participate in our Talent Show during the last week of camp.

Football

Football has a long history at Camp Olympia and is a fun activity for both boys and girls. Olympia’s owners, Chris Gilbert and Corby Robertson, Jr., were both All-American football players at the University of Texas. Both Chris and Corby taught football to Olympia campers in camp’s initial years. Campers will work on their football skills and play flag football games.

Frisbee

Frisbee is fun for all ages. Campers learn how to properly throw a frisbee and learn the strategies of playing Ultimate Frisbee. Campers also have the opportunity to play Frisbee Golf !

Gymnastics

Do you like to tumble? Gymnastics at Olympia includes learning basic tumbling as well as polishing more advanced tumbling skills. Gymnastics takes place in the air-conditioned Top of the O’Dome.

Golf Class

Golfers in golf class enjoy the use of the driving range, practice putting greens and par 3 course at beautiful Whispering Pines Golf Club, a nationally acclaimed golf course. Campers will learn from PGA professionals the basics of the game as well as the rules and etiquette of course play. Junior Golf Academy

At our Junior Golf Academy, campers of all skill levels receive daily instruction from PGA professionals at the nationally recognized Whispering Pines Golf Club.  In addition to utilizing the practice facility, campers will also have multiple opportunities to play the Whispering Pines golf course.  Click here to learn more about the Camp Olympia Junior Golf Academy.

Lacrosse

Pick up your sticks and let’s play! Both girls and boys have fun playing lacrosse at Camp Olympia.

O-Sports

O-Sports class has all of Olympia’s favorite games in one O-Mazing class! Games, such as O-O, O-ball, Sky-9, Koob and Spike-O, are played and new techniques and strategies for each are taught. Get ready to have a Ton-O’-Fun!

Soccer

She shoots, she scores! Campers of all ages can signup for soccer class. Stay in shape for your home soccer team or learn to play for the first time.

Softball

Softball is a fun activity for campers of all ages. Fun hitting and fielding drills help campers learn new skills and polish existing ones. Olympia has its own softball field for play.

Tennis

Game, Set, Match! Whether playing singles or doubles, campers will receive great tennis instruction for learning new skills and enhancing current ones. Olympia has two regulation-size tennis courts that are covered to keep the sun out of our eyes!

Track and Field

Track and Field is a great activity for staying in shape for school athletics or for general fitness. Campers enjoy the variety of elements in track and field class from the long jump to hurdles to sprints.

Volleyball

Bump, set, SPIKE! Campers of all ages enjoy playing volleyball on our sand volleyball court and covered hard court. Campers learn new skills and strategy of the game.

Weightlifting

Weightlifting is a great way to stay in shape for school athletics and to promote physical fitness. Campers in Weightlifting class learn the proper techniques for lifting weights in a safe manner.
