The Spirit International Golf Tournament hosts two top male and top female amateur golfers from 20 countries spanning six continents. This biennial event was established in 2001 and has featured some of today's professional golfers, Lorena Ochoa, Brandt Snedeker, Paula Creamer, Edoardo Molinari and Michael Sim.
Opening ceremonies for The Spirit are held at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, Texas on October 31, 2011. This event is open to the public and will feature the procession of the countries and players at 7:30pm and a performance by Cirque Le Masque beginning at 8:30pm.
