Camp Olympia is proud to host the participants and captains of The 2007 Spirit International Golf Tournament, October 22nd - 27th. Golfers will reside, relax and enjoy fun nightly programs at Camp Olympia while competing during the day at the adjacent Whispering Pines Golf Club.
The Spirit International Golf Tournament features two top male and top female amateur golfers from 24 countries spanning six continents. This biennial event was established in 2001 and has seen some of today's star golfers, such as Lorena Ochoa and Paula Creamer, compete.
At this year's Spirit, the women representing the USA will be the #1 ranked amateur, Amanda Blumenhurst, and 2006 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Champion, Tiffany Joh. The 2007 USA men's team will be the youngest USA men's team in the history of The Spirit. Cory Whitsett, 15, is the U.S. Junior Amateur Champion and attends Memorial High School from nearby Houston, Texas. Cory will be teamed up with #1 ranked junior golfer, Peter Uihlein, 18.
